CU-TECH™ Medium Density Criss-Cross Foam Pig - Medium Density (80Kg/M3)
Medium-density criss-cross foam pigs are constructed of medium density foam and coated with polyurethane elastomer in a criss-cross pattern. Medium Density (80Kg/M3)
They are used for regular-duty wiping, batching, and product removal applications. Options and other configurations include double-dish, double-nose, pulling rope or cable, transmitter or pinger cavity, jetting bypass ports, magnets, and customized diameters and lengths for special pigging applications.
A PIG in pipeline terms refers to a ‘Pipeline Intervention Gadget’, which passes through a pressurised pipeline to clean out the inside.
The flexible foam construction allows PIGs to negotiate tight bends, reducers, valves and pipe of different dimensions.
Foam PIGs are used after the pipeline is fully sealed, to remove sand, dust, debris, welding shavings, and other contaminants which are inside the pipeline. This removes the environmental risk of contamination entering into the water system.
By regularly sending PIGs along your pipeline, you can potentially increase the pipeline carrying capacity, reduce pump pressure and therefore power requirements. PIGs also give confirmation of pipe and flow integrity, and reduce contamination when an old pipeline is reused after being out of service
